Innovative Practices
At Vancouver Island Marble Quarries, we are committed to continually improving our resource and energy efficiency. While both our factory and quarries are located on Vancouver Island, sourcing and manufacturing marble locally has kept our carbon footprint low with less transportation and energy consumption.
From the implementation of our water-recycling system in our factory, to up-cycling our marble waste into our house made Cowichan Terrazzo and tile eco-product, we are mindful of our consumption by mitigating waste while contributing and participating in the circular economy.
Unlike traditional large-scale marble quarrying models that simultaneously accommodate several quarrying companies, and unlimited quarry access of raw material for the open market. Our boutique quarries footprint is very small, with less environmental impact. Our quarrying methods are unique, as sole and exclusive quarriers, fabricators and suppliers of Vancouver Island Marble. We minimize our waste by utilizing what we extract, avoiding a glut of inferior products on the open market place and producing high quality Canadian marble products.
We proudly supply the Pacific Northwest and Canada with 100% natural, locally quarried and fabricated marble products.
