Since opening Vancouver Island Marble Quarries in 1990, sustainability has been our way of life. Quarrying and fabrication 100% natural Marbles from Vancouver Island, we offer locally made building products that last forever.
We are mindful of our resources and energy consumption, and efficiency has always been our goal. The footprint of the two Vancouver Island Marble quarries are small and we are diligent with our reclamation practices. Sourcing and producing Marble locally from Vancouver Island, our carbon footprint of transportation is low, our factory uses a water recycling system, and we up-cycle our Marble waste into our Cowichan Terrazzo and tiles. We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact, by supporting and following the sustainability ``best practices`` framework.
Our projects are local supplying clients in the Pacific Northwest and Canada. You qualify for LEED points if your project site is within 500-mile radius of our quarries. Market like Vancouver BC, Vancouver Island, Calgary, and Seattle are within this 500 mile radius. LEED is a third-party certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.
