Since opening Vancouver Island Marble Quarries in 1990, we appreciate the beautiful island we live and work on and focus our operation of quarrying and manufacturing in the most sustainable way.

We are mindful of our resources and energy consumption, and efficiency has become a standard for us.
Sourcing and manufacturing marble locally from Vancouver Island, our carbon footprint has been minimal. From far less transportation to implementing our water-recycling system in our factory and upcycling our marble waste into our Cowichan Terrazzo and tile product, we are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact.

Our boutique quarries have a small footprint, and we are diligent with our reclamation practices. Our unique approach to quarrying minimizes waste by utilizing what we extract; in other words, we make with what we take out of the ground. We do not distribute our blocks wholesale internationally on the open market. Our natural, high-quality Canadian marble products are exclusively quarried and made by us from our island quarries. Serving clients across the Pacific Northwest and Canada with marble products made to last forever.

For local projects located within a 500-mile radius of our island quarries, such as Vancouver, BC, Vancouver Island, Calgary, and Seattle, our marble can help you earn LEED points. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is a third-party certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark that contributes to and supports sustainable and environmentally friendly building practices.
