At Vancouver Island Marble Quarries we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact while preserving the natural beauty and of the island we call home. As exclusive quarriers of Vancouver Island Marble, our small-scale boutique quarries do not carry the same large environmental footprint as traditional European quarrying models.  We are diligent with our reclamation projects of restoring the land to its natural state as much as possible.  We strive to reduce our waste, by utilizing all we extract from the quarry.  This unique approach to quarrying has led to the creation of many natural products that use all various grades and qualities of marble including decorative slabs, tiles, paving stones, 3 dimensional, giftware, aggregates and marble waste we up-cycle to make our eco Cowichan Terrazzo. Sourcing, quarrying and manufacturing local marble significantly reduces our environmental impact and carbon footprint.  VIMQ’s exclusive control and management of extraction has avoided wholesale glut and inferior product on the open market place while providing clients across the Pacific Northwest and Canada with high quality Canadian marble products that can last forever.

Vancouver Island Marble Quarries believes in product transparency and has provided clear, honest and reliable information in the form of Health Product Declarations (HPDs) to give consumers and clients a sustainable benchmark for more informed design choices. Our HPD’s for Vancouver Island Marbles and Cowichan Terrazzo & Tiles have also been published in the Sustainable Minds Transparency Catalog.
